Here’s a recap of our standout moments from RootsTech 2024:

MyHeritage Booth: A Hub of Activity

Our booth, always buzzing with activity, featured two canopies this year: one for DNA uploads and another for GEDCOM family tree uploads, both offered for free throughout the conference. The stands were very popular, with attendees eager to take advantage of these opportunities to delve deeper into their heritage.

Educational sessions and booth activities

Our team, along with MyHeritage friends and expert genealogists, led a series of informative sessions and demos, guiding attendees through the latest MyHeritage features.

Innovation at the forefront: MyHeritage announcements

Aaron Godfrey, our VP of Marketing, took the stage to highlight the recent launches at MyHeritage.

He highlighted recent developments at MyHeritage, including the introduction of AI Record Finder™ and AI Biographer™, two cutting-edge features that make exploring and documenting your family history easier than ever; the MyHeritage Wiki, a new community-led online genealogy encyclopedia; and the exciting update that MyHeritage is now home to 20 billion historical records from all over the world.

He also announced the launch of all-new profile pages, a major enhancement to the profile pages on MyHeritage that transform them into a centralized hub for everything known about a person, include a new feature called Hints, a unique and highly useful way of presenting new details from Smart Matches™ and Record Matches within the context of an individual profile.

Aaron then introduced some exciting new features to come: the addition of the AI photo scanner to the MyHeritage mobile app; the ability to share your DNA results with an expert; an upcoming family tree integration with FamilyTreeDNA; and a major update to our Ethnicity Estimate model that will expand our percentage-based ethnicities from 42 to 80.

Last but definitely not least, Aaron announced the launch of OldNews.com, a new website for exploring historical newspapers. Within hours, we already heard multiple stories of people who had made amazing finds about their ancestors on the new website! Back at the MyHeritage booth, an old-school paperboy gave out MyHeritage “Old News” newspapers to spread the “news.”

Aaron also mentioned our DNA upload campaign which we’ve just extended until March 10.

Gilad Japhet, our Founder and CEO, also delivered a captivating keynote, which we will be sharing soon in a separate blog post. Stay tuned for some surprises!

Till next year
