19 Historical Record Collections Added in the First Half of June 2023

We’ve been adding historical records at such a remarkable pace, we’ve decided to split our monthly post into two installments! In the first half of June 2023, we added 19 collections and 18 million records from Belgium, France and the United States. The collections include birth, marriage, death, obituary, and census records.

Belgium, Aalst Deaths

This collection contains death records and images from the Aalst municipality in Belgium, between the years 1796 and 1970. Records typically include the name of the deceased, date and place of birth, residence, date and place of death, information about the father, mother, spouse, witnesses, and registrar of the death.

The municipality of Aalst includes the villages of Baardegem, Erembodegem, Gijzegem, Herdersem, Hofstade, Meldert, Moorsel, and Nieuwerkerken.

France, Paris Census, 1931

This collection contains the 1931 census records and images from a variety of districts in Paris, France. Records typically include names, year and place of birth, relatives in the household and residence information. Additional details can be found on each record’s associated image.

From 1836 until 1936 a national census was conducted every 5 years in France except for 1871 (which was delayed one year and conducted in 1872) and 1916 (which was skipped). Census records constitute an excellent resource for finding ancestral family members living together and identifying their relationships, birth years, and birthplaces.

The Pennsylvania, Lehigh County, Allentown Obituaries contains a record of renowned poet and writer Hilda Doolittle, otherwise known for her moniker H.D. The record includes the publication name, date, and location: Morning Call, on September 29, 1961, Allentown, Lehigh, Pennsylvania. It also infers the death date of 1961.
