Among the births recorded in the new Montana, County Births collection is that of Myrna Adele Williams, born on August 2, 1905, in Helena, Lewis and Clark County, Montana. Better known as Myrna Loy, she went on to appear in more than eighty films before The Thin Man remade her overnight in 1934 as Nora Charles, the wittiest screen wife of her era, a role she reprised across five sequels. She was never nominated for a competitive Academy Award, but received the Kennedy Center Honors in 1988 and an Academy Honorary Award in 1991.
