Celebrate Australia Day with Free Access to 2.2 Billion Australian Records

To mark Australia Day, MyHeritage is providing free access to Australian historical records. From January 22–27, 2026, everyone can explore Australian records on MyHeritage at no cost.

Australia Day is a time to reflect on the people and stories that have shaped Australia. For a limited time, MyHeritage is making Australian historical records freely accessible, so people can explore their own family connections to that history.

The Australian and Oceania collections on MyHeritage have grown significantly and now include 2,172,722,587 records across 308 collections, covering a wide range of regions and time periods.

During the free access period, you can explore many different types of historical records. These include birth, marriage, and death indexes, electoral rolls and other government records, historical newspapers, burial and cemetery records, as well as school and institutional records.

Taken together, these sources make it possible to trace individuals through different stages of life and connect generations, helping to build a clearer picture of family stories over time.
