New: Download and Share Your MyHeritage Ethnicity Estimate as a Video
When MyHeritage DNA results are ready, the Ethnicity Estimate is revealed in an interactive display featuring a spinning globe, and background music representing the user’s ethnicities. Recently, some MyHeritage DNA users have started converting this interactive display of their ethnicity results into a video and sharing it on social media. Such videos have gained huge popularity, and dozens have gone viral on TikTok, Instagram, and other platforms.
We’ve now made it super easy for any MyHeritage DNA user to share their ethnicity results in a cool video, without the need to create and edit videos from screen recordings. If you’ve taken a MyHeritage DNA test or uploaded your DNA results from another service to MyHeritage, you can now download your interactive “spinning globe” ethnicity results as a video and share it on the social media platform of your choice. Who knows, your video may be the next one to go viral!

The example above was created using a screen recording of the interactive ethnicity results presented by MyHeritage, and we’ve made it even easier to create a shareable video. Downloading the video takes just a minute or two, and you can share it in any way you choose, with or without further editing.
Downloading your ethnicity results as a video
On desktop
Access your Ethnicity Estimate by selecting “Ethnicity Estimate” from the DNA menu in the main navigation bar.

A download icon now appears at the top right of the ethnicity map. Click the icon to create and download the video.

A popup notice will display while your video is downloading. Please keep the page open until the download is complete.

When viewing your interactive ethnicity results on the MyHeritage website or on your mobile web browser (in the “spinning globe” format), you can now download the video from the closing screen.

Once your video is finished downloading, you’re welcome to share it on your social media channels. Below is an example of a downloaded ethnicity video:
On a mobile web browser
To download your ethnicity video using your mobile device, visit MyHeritage.com in your browser and log in. Tap the menu icon on the top left of the page and select Ethnicity Estimate in the DNA section:

Tap the “Play” button with the purple “new” indication on the top right corner of the map.

Then, select “Download Ethnicity Video” from the menu.

Please stay on the page until the download is complete. Once the video is ready, you can share it in any way you like.
