In light of the holiday season, we wanted to add a fun feature to your family tree! Now when you log in to see your family tree it will be holiday-themed. Falling snowflakes, colorful wrapped presents, hanging Santa hats, and fully stuffed stockings will be scattered around your tree.
If you would like to share a snapshot of your holiday themed family tree on Facebook, and encourage your friends to start their own family tree, simply click on the Facebook icon (pictured below). You can also switch the holiday theme off and on as you please.
The post on Facebook only displays the photo of the main individual.
Our team developed this new feature during our latest hackathon. For those not familiar with the term, a hackathon is a one-day event during which our computer programmers, graphic designers, product managers and others split into teams to collaborate together on projects suggested by our employees.
We are very excited that this idea has come to life just in time for Christmas!
This feature is available to all users in the US, Canada, Great Britain, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Germany, France, the Netherlands, and Australia. This feature will end on January 4.
