Join the Party: Enter the MyHeritage Father’s Day Challenge on TikTok!

Father’s Day offers a special opportunity to honor and celebrate the dads and father figures in our lives. It’s a moment to reflect on their significant impact and express our gratitude. In commemoration of this special day, MyHeritage is hosting a TikTok competition. Participants can share favorite memories or lessons from their dads for a chance to win.

A father’s role extends beyond provision and protection; he is also a teacher and a role model. From teaching bike-riding to offering guidance during life’s challenges, fathers are present to support their children at every turn. We encourage everyone to show their appreciation for the father figures in their lives, whether through a heartfelt conversation, a shared experience, or a simple yet meaningful gesture.

To join the competition, either comment on our TikTok post or create your own TikTok video sharing a favorite memory or life lesson from your dad (or someone who was like a father to you), and tag @MyHeritage. Your entry can be a humorous anecdote, a cherished memory, or a valuable lesson imparted by your father.

MyHeritage will select three random winners, and they will receive free MyHeritage subscriptions. Entries will be accepted until the end of June.

We do understand that Father’s Day can be a difficult time for some, and if you choose not to celebrate, know that your story is important to us, too.

Good luck!

My father was a Royal Naval career man, Joined the English navy at age 15yrs. old,
From the time I was 5mths old my father was sent to New Zealand to train the New Zealand naval personal. WWII broke out. My father ship was returning to England.
When the ship was torpedoed & sunk. Fortunately for my father, early in the war the survivors were no shot in the water as the Nazi Germans did at a later date in the war, they picked the sailors up & worked them aboard ship.
The Red cross notified my mother MISSING PRESUMED DEAD.
18 months later after the German Raider that my father was aboard. the ship docked in Argentina. The Red cross was then notified & in turn my mother was informed. Alive & being return to Germany, to a German Prison camp, where he was imprisoned for the next 4yrs. till the late fall of 1945 he was released. & the next few yrs. in spent in & out of hospital with injuries my father had incurred because of lack of attention for that 5.1/2 yrs. in captivity. My father died at age 53 yrs. old
So, as you can see, I did not really get to know my father very much, as I missed a lot of my childhood with him.
But my wonderful grandfather had raised me. (My father, father) & being a girl, I was spoiled even though there was a war going on. You see my grandfather had 8 boys & 1 girl. My father was his oldest son & I was my grandfather 1st. grandchild.
Now I could go on & on of all the wonderful memories of my grandfather, growing up in the mist of the bombings living on the outskirts of London, England during WWII
But I will stop here & just say I loved him very much & have wonderful memories
