The series is led by Geoff Rasmussen, who has long been the steady, thoughtful voice behind Legacy Family Tree Webinars. Geoff’s approach is practical and welcoming, and it shows in how the 2026 lineup is structured — focused, intentional, and grounded in what researchers actually need.

Year of the Genealogy Deep Dive

The central theme for 2026 is Genealogy Deep Dives. Each month includes a focused learning day built around a single topic, usually with 3–4 coordinated sessions that work together. The idea is simple: instead of walking away with scattered notes, attendees leave with a clearer understanding of what to do next.

Across the year, more than 220 live classes are currently scheduled, led by over 100 experienced presenters. Topics range from DNA and AI to regional research, methodology, and photo preservation.

Some of the Deep Dive themes planned for 2026 include:

  • AI tools and practical workflows
  • Advanced census research
  • DNA surprises and family identity
  • Jewish genealogy and Holocaust resources
  • German research fundamentals
  • Digital skills for genealogists
  • Underused record sets
  • Photo preservation and interpretation
  • Advanced case studies and problem-solving
  • International research challenges

Each Deep Dive is designed to slow things down just enough to build understanding and confidence, especially for researchers who feel stuck or overwhelmed.

Returning series and familiar favorites

Alongside the Deep Dives, many well-known webinar series are returning in 2026, including sessions focused on regional research, technology, and methodology. Weekly Webinar Wednesday sessions continue as the backbone of the program, offering steady learning throughout the year.

There are also several longer-running series planned, including multi-class tracks on DNA, essential research skills, and using AI in genealogy.

At MyHeritage, the goal is to help people discover more about who they are and where they belong. Education plays a big role in achieving that goal. The webinars offered on Legacy Family Tree Webinars give people the tools to ask better questions, make sense of what they find, and keep going when research gets complicated.
