In this week’s update of the 1950 U.S. Census indexed records (and their corresponding images), MyHeritage has added records from Nevada and Puerto Rico. An additional 2,439,619 records were added for a total of 6,680,023 historical records in the collection. By 1950, Nevada’s population had grown to 160,083 people. Though it was still the least populous U.S. state in the 1950 census, it showed a 45.2% population increase from 1940, when it had a population of 110,247 people.
The 1950 census in Puerto Rico was conducted in Spanish and included similar questions to those asked in the continental United States. The answers were enumerated in the P93 form, “Censo de Población y Viviendas,” or “Census of Population and Housing,” a special form for the 1950 census enumeration in Puerto Rico.
