RootsTech 2015: Day 1

The MyHeritage team is in Utah for RootsTech, the largest family history event in North America.

Here are some highlights from day 1.

Our Chief Product Officer Mike Mallin presented a keynote address on beginning instant, personal family journeys. Thousands of people attended the keynote with thousands more watching online. Mike spoke about how our technologies work like magic to bring family history to life for everyone around the world. Mike also spoke on “Instant Discoveries and Family Storytelling in the Mobile World” at our sold-out sponsored lunch, for more than 300 attendees, including the top geneabloggers.

Our genealogy experts gave talks throughout the day. Chief Genealogist Daniel Horowitz spoke on MyHeritage products for family historians and how to build and manage a family tree with our mobile app.

Schelly Talalay Dardashti spoke on the “other side” of Jewish genealogy research, covering Sephardic genealogy, while Mike Mansfield, director of Content Production gave a computer lab on advancing Scandinavian family history research using our online resources. Utah team member Mark Olsen spoke on our partnership with FamilySearch.

We also hosted 15-minute demos at our booth on various topics such as using newspapers for family history research, family history apps for everyone, Eastern European genealogy research and Family Tree Builder. For the full list of classes for the rest of the conference, click here.
