MyHeritage Adds 84 Million Historical Records in August 2024

In August 2024, we published 84 million historical records from 16 collections. The newly added records are from the United States, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Israel, and Spain. They include births, deaths, obituaries, marriage licenses, parish banns and marriages, wills and probate administrations, and military records. Some of the collections also include images.

England, Kent, Archdeaconry of Rochester Parish Banns and Marriages, 1559-1939

This collection contains banns and marriage records from the Archdeaconry of Rochester in Kent, England, between the years 1559 and 1939. This collection is a register of civil birth records from all 32 counties of Ireland between the years 1864 and 1921, continuing for the Republic of Ireland until 1958. Records typically include the name of the child, year and place of birth, and the mother’s birth name (for records from 1928).

Avelim – Israeli Obituaries

This collection contains mourning notices, obituaries and Shiv’ah notices from Israel. Records typically contain the name of the deceased, the date the notice was published, the Hebrew date the notice was published, and the notice itself. Some notices are dedicated to the parent, sibling or other family member of a certain individual.

Israel Genealogy Research Association – IGRA

The Israel Genealogy Research Association (IGRA) collection includes various records found in Israel or related to Israel. Records typically include the name of the individual and the source where the original was published. Some records may include the year of birth, date of death and the names of the parents. Record years currently span from about 1800 to 2020 and come from archives as well as publications on open shelves in libraries where archival permission has been granted.

In the newly added historical record collection Maryland Births, 1875-1922, we uncovered an entry for Mildred Dorothea Dunnock, born on January 25, 1901, in Baltimore, Maryland. Mildred would go on to become a renowned stage and screen actress, celebrated for her roles in iconic productions like Death of a Salesman and The Glass Menagerie.

What’s particularly intriguing about this record is the detail that her father was a traveling salesman — notable given her future role in Death of a Salesman, where she portrayed the long-suffering wife of a struggling salesman. This connection between her personal history and her most famous role adds a layer of depth to her family story.
