Competition: Free Photo Consultation with The Photo Detective

Want to know more about that old family photograph? Unsure who those people are next to your grandparents?

In honor of our global “Treasure Family Photos” initiative, we’re excited to offer weekly competitions to help discover the history behind your old photos.

Each week, one lucky winner will have the chance to join Maureen Taylor, the Photo Detective and world-class expert in photo analysis, for a free photo consultation session.

The winner will be able to show Maureen their photos and learn more about them. A photo curator, genealogist and preservation expert, she’ll help you uncover the history behind your pictures and discover more about your ancestors.

MyHeritage are proud to host the world’s largest international collection of old family photos, dating back to the 1840s. In this week’s competition, we want to find out who has the oldest family photo in their family tree.

Simply email us a copy of the oldest family photo you have, and the photo dating back the furthest will win an analysis session with Maureen.

Send your photos with the subject “Oldest Family Photo” to stories@myheritage.com including a date / year that it was taken, by August 13, and the winner will be announced next week.  Entries are subject to photo competition terms and conditions detailed below*. The consultation will take place via Google Hangout and the competition is open to all.

Don’t forget to visit our “Treasure Family Photos” website which is packed full of tips for finding the hidden clues in your photographs, suggestions on how to preserve them, the importance of photos for family history and creative ideas for fun photo activities to do with the kids.

Good luck!
