Australia: MyHeritage chief genealogist to speak

Australia: MyHeritage chief genealogist to speak

MyHeritage’s chief genealogist Daniel Horowitz will visit Australia this month to speak at the 13th Australasian Congress on Genealogy and Heraldry in Adelaide.

Always busy, this trip follows his recent participation at Who Do You Think You Are Live! in London.

He’ll also speak in Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide on general genealogy topics and what MyHeritage and WorldVitalRecords offers to family historians and genealogists.

He has a multi-faceted role at MyHeritage. With more than 20 years of genealogy experience, Daniel provides key contributions in product development, customer support and public relations; working with genealogy societies, bloggers and media; as well as speaking and attending conferences around the world. He also heads our translation department, where he has been instrumental in increasing MyHeritage’s global support for 38 languages for our website and software.

Previously, Daniel was an educator and study guide editor – for over 15 years – of the family history project “Searching for My Roots” in Venezuela, where his work received many international awards. A power genealogist, researcher and lecturer, Daniel holds board-level positions with a number of genealogical societies and organizations. He holds a B.Sc. (Computer Engineering) and a Specialization in Education and Management of Educational Institutions, and has a deep understanding of the needs of today’s family history enthusiasts.

Daniel will start his genealogy tour in Hong Kong, were he will speak at the Jewish Community Center on March 19.

This is Daniel’s schedule in Australia:

Daniel, along with our former Australian country manager Kim, will attend the 13th Australasian Congress on Genealogy and Heraldry in Adelaide and staff our booth (#47).

Already a MyHeritage user? Please stop by and let them know about your experiences. Not yet a member? Bring your GEDCOM to the booth or open an account there, and let Kim and Daniel help you find long-lost relatives. They’ll also be offering a discount code for premium subscriptions.

Is your Hong Kong or Australian organization interested in having Daniel speak on any of a large number of genealogy topics? It’s not too late to add your organization to the list. Contact him at

Great Danny. Your Family Tree Program is Today the Best in The Market by an order of magnitude and very user friendly. Keep Up the good work.
I would like to suggest an improvement. The listing of the females should also be done using the parents family name & not the married family name. It is simpler & easier to track. The married family name should be an additional clue as very often there are several persons with the same name as Jewish womens names are limited in number.
