This week we released two game-changing genetic genealogy features: The Theory of Family Relativity™ and AutoClusters.

The response to both announcements has been incredible! Users are thrilled with the features and tools that we’ve introduced, and even after only a couple of days, the feedback is outstanding.
Here’s what people are saying online:
Theory of Family Relativity
Game Changer from @MyHeritage https://t.co/jcRHpUGZML

“I am loving this!” – Tom G.
“The Theory of Family Relativity tool looks like it will be a great time-saver. It took about one minute to point out an exact location for each of a group of three cousins on the exact branch of the family tree where we suspected the shared ancestral couple must be, finding its way through five different user supplied family trees. Even though it didn’t appear to consult census returns or other documentary evidence, it provided a pretty clear road map to use as a research guide. This should save us a lot of time that might otherwise be lost blundering down numerous dead ends.” (from https://www.legalgenealogist.com/2019/02/28/new-myheritage-dna-tools/)
“Awesome, it just resolved one unknown match!” – Daiyu H.
“All seven of my hints are correct, and what’s more, three of them manage to get around serious errors — not just gaps — in my match’s pedigrees. On the other hand, the competitor’s tool appears to have been rushed into release without adequate testing. It gives me no matches whatsoever, even though according to the documentation, it should show more than 40 DNA+pedigree matches that can already be found using existing features on the site!” – John Dobson
“Simply magic!” – Michael P.
“Thank you! I was able to fill in some gaps to confirm an unknown match through the Theory of Family Relativity. Hope to find more!” – Heather B.
“I’ve received 5 and it is spot on to how I have determined us to be related!” – Keren F.
“I have three “Family Relativity” connections for DNA matches that may be a new connection!” – Leah A.
Ok @MyHeritage you have shaken my tree with theory of family relativity helped me find the connections on my mtDNA matches which is unheard of 😮

“Oh my, I am having such fun with this! Need more time to work out some of the paths it’s given me.” – Fred J.
“Wonderful option. I received matches I haven’t looked at before. All these matches can be confirmed by paper trail.” – Peter K.
“Wow! What an amazing tool.” – Vivi B.

I’ve had a different experience so far. I have 15 matches in the Theory of Family Relativity, and 5 of them are dead wrong (I’m assuming that my tree is correct, of course!).
Everyone needs to be careful because you do not control the trees of your DNA matches. You have to do the research to prove relationships.
