Attractions You Won’t Want to Miss at MyHeritage LIVE 2019!

We’re looking forward to seeing old friends and meeting new ones at our second annual user conference in Amsterdam, September 6–8.

There are three lecture tracks: genealogy, DNA, and hands-on workshops. Our jam-packed schedule includes lectures and workshops with local Dutch experts as well as international genealogy experts. 

We know that genealogists never stop, but in between the engaging sessions, we’ve lined up some fantastic activities for conference-goers. 

Here are some of the exciting things we have planned: 

Canal tours

Amsterdam, known as “Venice of the North,” has over 100 km of waterways that weave between the city roads. Canal boat tours are a great way to truly experience the city and take in all the sights and scenery. 

On Friday, September 6, we will be providing FREE canal tours with pick up and drop off from directly behind the Hilton Amsterdam, the conference venue. The tours will be offered from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. during the garden drinks reception.

See Amsterdam from a different perspective, and enjoy a boat tour that you will never forget!

Dutch dress up

On Saturday, September 7, we will provide a perfect souvenir from your trip to Holland — a Dutch costume photoshoot! Dress up in traditional Dutch attire, clogs and all, and say cheese! You will receive a print of the photo as well as a digital copy via email.

Party time! 

As demonstrated at previous MyHeritage events, genealogists sure know how to party! We promise that this year’s conference party will not disappoint. 

On Saturday night, September 7, we will be hosting a groovy shindig. The night will begin with a performance by the group Folkdancegroup Oriënt. The folk dance group performs the traditional dances of their ancestors worldwide, donning traditional Dutch clothing.  

Next, Beatlemania, a U.K. Beatles tribute band formed in 1980, will take the stage. Band members will perform two sets: one of classic Beatles songs and one of John Lennon hits.
