MyHeritage Visits Five Global Conferences in One Weekend

June was a busy month for the MyHeritage conference team. The month kicked off with five conferences around the world in a single weekend. A sixth planned conference in Brazil was postponed to the following weekend due to nationwide strikes.

First to open was Jamboree, the Southern California Genealogical Society’s annual event at the Los Angeles Marriott in Burbank. The MyHeritage team have been attending this event for a number of years and always enjoy the warm, friendly and enthusiastic atmosphere, especially around the popular raffles at our booth. This year we gave away three MyHeritage Complete subscriptions, three DNA kits and an Amazon echo.

Next was the New Zealand Genealogical Society’s annual conference, which took place in Christchurch this year. Our wonderful team of volunteers, Keith, Fiona, Margaret, and Bruce, were at the MyHeritage table Friday to Monday answering questions and demonstrating MyHeritage to attendees. Many people took advantage of our discount coupons for 50% off all MyHeritage subscriptions and 10% off DNA kits.

The Ontario Genealogical Society (OGS) enhanced their exhibit hall offering this year and, as platinum sponsors, MyHeritage had a large booth at the front. We were happy to meet our Canadian users and assist people with their questions and research queries. Our team also gave four mini-presentations: “Visualising Your Family Tree on MyHeritage” with Senior VP Uri Gonen, “Finding Family with DNA testing” with Esther Shuman, “MyHeritage’s Unique Technologies” with Maycie Nielsen and “Managing your DNA Matches” with Kerry Farnsworth.

In Jerusalem, our support reps were happy to answer questions from the many MyHeritage users at the Israeli Genealogy Society’s annual conference. The team spent time with MyHeritage users, assisting them with their research, demonstrating MyHeritage features and offering tips and tricks.

Meanwhile, at Famillement 2018 in the Netherlands, the MyHeritage team were kept busy all day with many of the 3100 conference attendees dropping by our stand. People were particularly interested in hearing about the synergies between DNA testing and traditional genealogy methods. The one-day family history conference was held in Leeuwarden, European Capital of Culture 2018.

We love meeting new and experienced MyHeritage users, hearing their feedback, and guiding them on their family history journey. We still have a number of international conferences on our schedule for 2018, so we hope to see you soon at a conference near you!
