The Rocking MyHeritage RootsTech After-Party

The Rocking MyHeritage RootsTech After-Party

This year at RootsTech, we hosted our second annual After-Party on Friday, February 10. The party was hopping, with delicious food, drinks, magicians, fun games, prizes and a returning favorite from last year, entertaining karaoke throughout the night. Genealogists sure know how to party!

Here’s a video summarizing what a fantastic night it was:

The hall, all set up and ready for our guests.

People can’t wait for the party to start.

The packed party room.

Geneablogger Randy Seaver and his wife Linda, and other guests.

Russ Wilding, MyHeritage Chief Content Officer, opened up the evening welcoming the guests.

Our returning Master of Ceremonies was our friend and genealogy blogger Thomas MacEntee of Geneabloggers. He entertained the crowd all night long.

We had some returning Karaoke stars from last year, such as Thom Reed (Senior Marketing Manager at FamilySearch), and some new acts who enjoyed the spotlight.

The MyHeritage team could have sung all night long!

The games brought out everyone’s competitive streak.

Another highlight this year was the slow motion video booth that we set up. Here are some of our favorites:

MyHeritage Product Managers Shahar, Dana, and MyHeritage Founder and CEO Gilad Japhet:

Everyone had a rocking time at the party. Here’s what some of our guests had to say afterward on Twitter and Instagram:

Another special surprise was the MyHeritage DNA neck pillows that everyone took home at the end of the night.

We had a great time at the MyHeritage After-Party, and we can’t wait to continue the tradition at RootsTech 2018!

Thank you to all on the fabulous MyHeritage team, for hosting another fabulous gathering at RootsTech! After hours of classes and learning, and being on “information overload,” it is refreshing to be able to just have fun! You all are the best!

Thanks for sharing my Instagram pic of the goodies. Each year the party gets better. I had a great time. I’ll be saving up the $ and hoping to go to Rootstech again in 2018. Fran @travelgenee from Australia.
