Introducing MyHeritage’s new look!

We’re happy to announce that the MyHeritage website just got a new look! It’s the same good ol’ website, nothing was changed in functionality, we just improved it with a fresher, newer look.

MyHeritage gets a new look

Here are a couple of things we’ve improved:

  • All account settings were grouped in one place to make it easier to reach your profile, change your email address, modify family site settings, or log out. Once you get used to it you’ll see that it’s much easier to reach account settings this way.

  • We’ve also added a new tab for Apps for easier access to our mobile app and other apps we intend to release in the near future.

  • Our footer is now larger, displaying all the links you need in multiple columns rather than one long line, for easier navigation. However, in some situations such as when viewing the tree, the footer shrinks to a small line to avoid grabbing too much attention. You’ll notice that the footer shows families being together and having fun, which is what MyHeritage is all about.

  • The option for changing the language (from the extensive list of 38 languages we support) has moved to the top of the page where it is more easy to access than before. You’ll also notice that the menu for changing the language was improved and you can now select a new language in just one click instead of two. We also removed the small flags because if you want to choose French, it doesn’t mean that you necessarily live in France, and so on.
  • The entire site navigation now has 2 rows rather than 3 as before, which makes finding your way around the site simpler.
  • We have even updated our logo a bit. It still has the same tree image with arcs that represent the globe, that so many of our users are fond of, but the font in which the word “MyHeritage” is written has been updated for better readability.

For more details, watch the following short video:

You can check out the new look on a public family tree by viewing the British Royal Family Tree on MyHeritage. As with any change to the website, we have done this one carefully and using a beta program with a subset of the users.

The positive feedback has encouraged us that we are proceeding in the right direction. Feel free to email with your comments, and include any suggestions you have for additional improvement.

    Hi,
The new look and arrangement is good. However, the top and the bottom are not handicap friendly – no contrast between the background and the writing, makes it very difficult for people with poor eyesight.

    Thanks, Liora

I pinned My Hertage to the Task Bar Win 7. When I try to open nothing happens. If I put mouse over icon of My Heritage I see small version of screen however it does not open fully. If I try to uninstall it tells me it cannot because the program is open. Can you help.

Thank you MyHeritage for the new look which I love. Being visually challenged I find the pages are much kinder to the eyes. Not so much glare. Also there seems to be a slight colour tint to the pages which helps.
Keep up the good work, Patricia.
