This week another language was added to MyHeritage.com, so your family site can now be displayed in 36 different languages. As you’ll see in your language options, Slovenian is now available.
We received a lot of requests for Slovenian, so it was a pleasure to finally be able to offer it. We already offer a variety of Central European languages, including Slovakian, Czech, Croatian, and Serbian, and it was fantastic to be able to add Slovenian to this set. Many of those with roots in Central Europe and the Balkans – and in particular the former Yugoslavia – have ancestors in several countries of this region. As a consequence, it’s often helpful to be able to work in as many languages as you can in the area.
For those of you not familiar with Slovenian, it’s a Slavic language spoken mainly in Slovenia itself, but also in parts of neighbouring countries and among the Slovenian diaspora worldwide. There are over 2 million speakers in total.
We hope you’ll enjoy this new language option – Dobrodošli!
If your language is not yet among those we offer, we’d love to hear from you. Please email us at: translate [at] myheritage [dot] com.
You can view the Slovenian homepage here. Many thanks for our Genealogy and Translation Manager Daniel Horowitz, and our Slovenian translation team Janez Narobe, Vojko Grobovsek, Miha Rus, Vlasta Knapic, and Jure Peternel
