Expert reviews of Record Matching
Our Record Matching technology, launched last week, has made a big splash in the genealogy industry.
Check out what some of the most influential genealogists on the Web have had to say about it:
Randy Seaver, Genea-Musings post 1, post 2:
"I like the MyHeritage Record Matching technology - it is a step forward in helping researchers with online family trees find online records that can add content to their database in the quest for finding our elusive ancestors."
"This system of Record Matches is excellent - especially when there are too many matches to consume in one sitting."
"No other provider of record searches provides a similar service for newspaper articles - this one is unique to date."
James Tanner, Genealogy's Star post 1, post 2:
"On my very first tries, I was impressed and that isn't very common. I don't usually do software reviews because I like all of the programs and I don't want to appear to hold favorites, but this turns out to be different. MyHeritage.com has come up with a new service that should impact many genealogical researchers in a way that hasn't happened previously."
"This is really significant -- MyHeritage.com Record Matches."
"In my opinion, this is a significant step forward for the online genealogical community."

Introducing Record Matching
We're pleased to introduce today a new technology - Record Matching - that automatically finds relevant historical records for every family tree on MyHeritage!
This is an add-on feature for SuperSearch, our global search engine for historical records, that was successfully launched in June. We're very excited about Record Matching, and believe it is a breakthrough that can bring value to almost every user of MyHeritage and to people not using MyHeritage who are curious about their family history. Read the details below and we hope you'll share our excitement.

Technology: Now meets then
We often hear people say that kids "get" technology easier than adults.
I remember the old computers we had at home, the tapes we used to load programs, the floppy disks that were really floppy. I'm sure my grandparents were probably amazed at the speed with which I could load and play Frogger.
Kids today are described as super-advanced when it comes to understanding new gadgets, so it's interesting to see how they relate to the gadgets that were around before they were born.
In this video, young people were challenged to see if they could figure out how to use some classic gadgets from the 80s.

RootsTech 2012: A MyHeritage success!
RootsTech has quickly become the biggest genealogy conference in the United States. This year, more than 4,300 people attended.
For MyHeritage it was a very successful, as people happily welcomed us, the booth was constantly crowded, and we had a lot of fun. Also, our founder and CEO and Gilad Japhet's presentation on the soon-to-be-released SuperSearch was one of the most attended and anticipated. See our slideshow below:
We thank Banai Feldstein for sharing her photos with us.
Genealogy conferences are about content, of course, but more so about the people! We love to see our old friends and meet new ones.
People came from afar, and the MyHeritage team always enjoys meeting face-to-face with people with whom our only contact during the year is email or Skype. It is also an opportunity to hear from happy MyHeritage users.

RootsTech 2012: Day two highlights
It was another exciting day at RootsTech. The MyHeritage booth was very busy all day, as the team told those who stopped by how MyHeritage and World Vital Records can help advance their research. Visitors were a mix of those new to MyHeritage, along with those who were already members.
A large audience heard Dave Barney of Google present the many uses of Google for genealogy. He demonstrated various features, ranging from Google Maps and how to pinpoint your ancestors on a street level view map and how to zoom in to their historic homes, churches and more to show your family’s living history. He shared a photo of the Swedish church – still standing - where his ancestors were married more than two centuries ago. The building was shown in Google street view.

RootsTech 2012: Day one highlights
MyHeritage’s experience at RootsTech has been a success, from setup to live hangouts and a very busy booth on the first day.
The team began setting up Wednesday afternoon. Our booth is a real standout with double arches of balloons in the MyHeritage logo colors. Everyone knows where our booth is located as the colorful balloons fly high above the exhibit floor.
MyHeritage Super Search
Today, the opening day, our CEO/founder Gilad Japhet demonstrated the new MyHeritage Super Search technology. The new online research system greatly expands search functionality and takes into account user errors, common name variations, and other important details which, in the past, have not been included in most ancestral searches. There are many options to filter results by collections, via additional refining, advanced search and filtering capabilities as demonstrated in his presentation. This exciting new research system is still under development.
