We’re excited to announce that the MyHeritage mobile app is a featured app on Google Play!
Every week, Google selects a handful of the best new or updated Android applications and features them on Google Play. We're honored that the MyHeritage mobile app for Android was chosen to be featured among the best apps in more than 30 countries this month.
We're happy to announce that Mac users can now download and use MyHeritage Family Tree Builder! Like the Windows version, it's completely free!
There have been frequent requests by our users to run Family Tree Builder 7.0 on the Mac operating system. Many of our users have switched in recent years from Windows to Mac and wanted to continue using Family Tree Builder, their favorite genealogy software.
We are in the advanced stages of developing a native Mac version of the software, with the look and feel that Mac users will appreciate. Meanwhile, until the new native version is ready, we have also created a version of Family Tree Builder for Mac called Family Tree Builder Mac Extension, that looks the same as our Windows version, and does not require Windows or any additional setup or configuration when downloaded.
We're delighted to announce the launch of Instant Discoveries™, a new, free experience that makes it easier for new users to embark on their genealogical journey.
Imagine - if at the very moment you signed up to MyHeritage - you were handed a never-before-seen photo of your great-grandmother? Or, if you were given a family tree branch with many of your ancestors, just by entering some basic information? Discoveries can be magical and help engage newcomers to family history and introduce them to this fascinating activity.
With Instant Discoveries™, it takes only seconds for people who sign up to MyHeritage to discover ancestors and create an online family tree with many relatives and photos. After perfecting the technology, we took Instant Discoveries™ to the streets of New York and successfully demonstrated it to passers-by. It was incredible to see their emotional reactions which you can watch in the short video above.
We're excited to introduce our new and enhanced online family tree editor!
The old online family tree editor on MyHeritage was loved by our users, but it was based on Adobe Flash technology which has, over time, become obsolete. We aim to constantly provide our users with the best tools for building their family trees, so the tree editor had to be reinvented, and developed from scratch using newer technologies such as HTML5 and Angular JS. The new family tree editor is faster and easier to use. It runs smoothly on smartphones and tablets. Another important benefit is that Record Matches can now be accessed directly from the family tree. Most importantly, the new editor provides better performance, especially for large trees.
We've been releasing the new version of the online tree editor gradually, while receiving and addressing feedback from our users. This week, we're delighted to complete the introduction of the enhanced family tree editor to all MyHeritage users.
The look and feel of the new family tree editor is very similar to the previous editor, but it includes many enhancements and subtle changes described below. The post below is very detailed, it's probably the longest we've ever written for the blog We encourage you to read it in detail in order to learn all about the enhanced family tree editor, and how you can make the most of it.
We're excited to let you know that we've made it quicker and easier to add photos and videos to MyHeritage family sites! Whether you wish to add a few photos or hundreds in one go, you can drag and drop photos from anywhere on your computer and bring more color to your family tree.
You'll encounter the following enhancements in your family site:
Uploading photos and videos to albums:

We have added the world's oldest continuously-published Jewish newspaper to our online search engine, SuperSearch, with billions of historical records.
The Jewish Chronicle, popularly known as The JC, is the oldest and most influential Jewish newspaper in England. The collection dates back to the newspaper's founding, in 1841, and contains over 200,000 newspaper pages.
The newspaper has played a central part in the development of modern Anglo-Jewry, capturing the lives and times of the Jewish community around the globe for almost two centuries. It has interviewed high-profile, leading figures through the years. The JC collection is a valuable resource for historians and genealogists alike. Anyone with Jewish roots in the United Kingdom is bound to find this collection extremely interesting, and is sure to learn more about their ancestors and the times they lived in.
We did it again! We've just added 815 million US Public Records of people living in the USA to MyHeritage SuperSearch. This massive compilation of records was assembled from telephone directories, property tax assessments, credit applications, voter registration lists and other records available to the public. It includes information about hundreds of millions of people from the USA spanning the last five decades, making it one of the most powerful collections on SuperSearch for finding information about living relatives.
We’re excited to announce that we've added more than 160 million new US and UK historical records to SuperSearch, MyHeritage’s powerful search engine for historical records.
These records come from hundreds of collections, including such vital records as births, baptisms, marriages and deaths, military records, censuses and many more.
