Family Graph API Contest: Finalists named, voting now open
We’re delighted to announce the finalists of the Family Graph API Contest. A few months ago, MyHeritage challenged developers from around the world to create engaging apps for families, offering a $10,000 prize for the winner.
We've received some great entries, and shortlisted them to the four finalists below. Now it's up to you - the public - to vote for your favorite.
The finalists are listed on the contest page and readers are invited to vote now, through March 14. Simply visit the page, try out the apps, and vote for your favorite using the Facebook Like buttons. We'll announce the winner on March 15.

Valentine’s Day: Love through family history
Millions of couples will celebrate the most romantic day of the year today, February 14. Love is in the air and love stories surround us.

A few weeks ago, MyHeritage asked readers to share their ancestors' love stories or photos that illustrate them. We received touching stories and photos from around the world. It was hard to pick three winners, all the stories are beautiful and special. So we decided to double the number of winners to six! Below you can read the lovely stories:

Valentine’s Day: Share your love stories
Valentine's Day is 14 days away and millions of couples around the world prepare for the most romantic day in the year.
People also recall how it was celebrated generations ago. They may remember incredible and moving love stories of their own or of their ancestors.
We have all heard the love stories of our grandparents, great-grandparents or other ancestors. These may include a love that was separated or difficult due to distance, historical events, family disagreements or other reasons.
Even though times were much harder, somehow those impossible loves won out, the couple married and their love story lasted until contemporary times.
When I was younger, it was quite an opportunity to listen to some cringe-worthy love stories from my parents. The experience was more of a learning opportunity (as in a whistle-stop tour of how not to let a lady know about your affections).

With only one day left until we reveal the winners of the MyHeritage Genealogy Advice Competition, we thought we'd share a sneak peek of the many entries submitted through Twitter.

We all remember our first forays into the world of family research.
"Where do I look?", "How do I physically record the information?" and "What on earth is a GEDCOM file?" are just a few of the many questions that went through my mind when starting out.
Now, if somebody who had "been there and done that" could have provided some advice about the importance of citing sources or, indeed, the art of deciphering census handwriting, my research would have been significantly more efficient!

MyHeritage Happy Holidays Competition!
Join in the fun by entering our Happy Holidays Video Competition and win one of four HD video cameras!
Participating is easy. Simply create a video of yourself or of you and your family wishing "Happy Christmas (or Holidays) from London (insert location)” in the style of your home town! Thanksgiving: Picture the festivities!
Where has the year gone?
Supermarkets in the US are jammed with shoppers looking for that perfect turkey and gathering all the ingredients for side dishes and traditional desserts.
There are only a few days left until entire neighborhoods and apartment buildings are filled with the fragrance of roasting turkeys.
The MyHeritage team encourages everyone to record this holiday - and all family holidays, of course - in photographs for posterity. To help this project along, we’re giving away two Premium subscriptions for the best photo in each of two categories: Old family photos of Thanksgiving past and contemporary photos of this year’s festivities.

We love running competitions at MyHeritage, and Halloween provided an excellent opportunity to see what our community created.
