Happy Mother’s Day!

Happy Mother’s Day!

For Mother’s Day, we asked you to share advice, sayings or quotes your mother told you when growing up by finishing the sentence “Mom says…”

We received great responses and wanted to share some of our favorites:

Manners cost nothing.

Remember, some day you’ll be the Mommy. Then you can have your own rules, dear.

Mom says “don’t be so disappointed. When one door closes, another one will open wider.”

Mom said when I would complain about someone’s negative trait, “Let that be an example of what you don’t want to be.”

When we didn’t know how to amuse ourselves Mom said “Go ride a bike on a flat roof.”

Never hold back the strength of what you could do today for tomorrow, as tomorrow may never come.

Mom said: “Don’t give with one hand and take away with the other. Give with both hands.”

My mother passed away at 98 and right up until that time she always said “You can’t walk on one leg”. This meant that she could always take 2 chocolates or 2 biscuits or 2 lollies or whatever the going treat was. We all say it now and it means we have permission to not just take 1 biscuit etc but 2 because ”you can’t walk on one leg!”

Thanks to all those who sent in your memories.

We hope you and your family have a wonderful Mother’s Day. How will you celebrate?
