Where in the world is MyHeritage’s chief genealogist?

Where in the world is MyHeritage’s chief genealogist?

2014 has just begun, and I’m ready to start my travels to genealogy conferences and give lectures around the world.

This year will see a new set of lectures regarding MyHeritage products and new features. The previous ones are, of course, still available. I’ve also developed some lectures about genealogy in general like cemetery research and roots travel, or more specific ones related to Jewish genealogy and Israel.

My journey begins in Salt Lake City (February 6-8) at RootsTech 2014 where I will be giving two main lectures, three demo sessions and a few “stand-up” mini-lectures at the booth. After the conference, I’ll stay a few more days to do some personal research and lecture at the Family History Library on February 11, just before I fly to the East Coast.

Right now, there are no scheduled commitments in the Tri-State area (New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania), but I will post if I schedule something.

From the US, I fly to London for the WDYTYA Live conference (February 20-22) where I will speak on “How to share and preserve memories in the digital age.”

Then, after a month back home, I will again fly to the US – to Miami, Florida – where I have not been in a long time. I’ll meet with family and friends, and also speak on April 8 at Pinecrest Branch Library, Miami-Dade, for the JGS of Greater Miami and the Genealogical Society of Greater Miami.

From April 13-25, I will enjoy some vacation time with my family in upstate New York on my way to Toronto and St. Catherine’s, Ontario, Canada (April 27-May 4) as an invited speaker at the Ontario Genealogical Society Conference. I will give three lectures, participate in a round table on Social Media and Genealogy; and staff a MyHeritage table.

Then I go to Richmond, Virginia, for the National Genealogical Society conference, where MyHeritage will have a booth and I will inform conference attendees about our new features and how to “Get the Most out of MyHeritage.”

From June 5-8, I will meet up with many geneafriends and geneabloggers at the Southern California Genealogical Society Jamboree, where I will speak four times about MyHeritage and genealogy in general. The MyHeritage booth will be open to attendees for questions and research.

The 2014 genealogy conference year ends where it started, in Salt Lake City, for the International Association of Jewish Genealogical Societies conference (July 27-August 1) for a full week of lectures, booth staffing, reconnecting with friends, and research (both Jewish and general).

Regardless of whether you are a new MyHeritage user or an experienced genealogist, please visit any of our booths at these events, attend the lectures, and come over to say hello. You’ll get a smile and maybe even a nice gift from MyHeritage.

If your genealogy society is near any of the places mentioned above – and you would like me to speak- contact me (daniel@myheritage.com) and I’ll do my best to schedule a visit.

We’ll be updating this blog post with more speaking commitments, so make sure to stay tuned!

      Hi John,

      Thanks for the interest.
I was in Australia a couple of years ago, and I’m planning another trip maybe for 2015 or 2016.
I will keep you all posted about it as soon as I have more details.

    Daniel,
On your travels through Spain and Israel please try and locate as many “Andujar’s”. They hopefully are my Jewish relatives from Andulasia, Spain. This side of my Jewish relatives were dispersed in the late 1700’s and 1800’s. We are Sephardic’s.
