Competition: Discover your American roots this Fourth of July

Competition: Discover your American roots this Fourth of July

The Fourth of July is one week away, and we’re ready to celebrate!

Also known as Independence Day, Americans come together to commemorate the adoption of the Declaration of Independence and the country’s birthday.

A great time to celebrate American heritage, it is also fun to share the holiday with families at  barbecues, picnics, parades, fairs, firework displays and other family activities.

In honor of America’s upcoming birthday, we are interested in your most memorable Fourth of July family moments. How have you celebrated with your family in the past?

Share your family (or ancestors’) photos from Fourth of July celebrations for a chance to win a one-year data subscription to access our online database, SuperSearch, with billions of historical records.

With a large database including all available US census records and more, it’s a great way to learn more about your American heritage, or discover if you have American roots.

Share your photos directly with us on our Facebook page or email them to stories@myheritage.com.

Have Instagram? Follow us at @MyHeritage_Official and send in your July 4th family photos on the day itself. All you need to do is tag us and add the hashtag #MHJuly4. We’ll choose our favorite to also win a data subscription.

We look forward to seeing your family celebrations!
