lisa, i love this show..so interesting and i think particularly precious to those of us that are born here, 1st or 2nd generation canadian or american as we are severed from our roots and i speak for myself when i say i did not know any grandparents and am unable to find my ancestors as they are from remote places in the ukraine. bless you for bringing this to us.. i know that i have spent a lifetime feeling a sense of not belonging. i always tear up when watching these connections get made. thanks again ! oh by the way we love you !

I started watching WDYTYA the first season. I have been interested in family history for years but my family on my dad's side have been tight lipped. I can't find any information that I even exist. :-)
I have been researching my husbands side for his mother. She is our last living parent and I want to give her something to enjoy before we become the oldest generation.
Thank you Lisa for such a wonderful show.

Fabulous interview. With Lisa and what she is doing, with the show.
I agree with Elisabeth (above) that it would have been better if more
focus had been put on the parents and grandparents. as that is were the history gets deep and interesting. (With all people). A lot of people don't know there parents and grandparents So much to cover and so little time. DO LOVE THE SHOW. Keep up the good work.

Loved the interview. I found it interesting that she said the show uses History teachers for the research. It makes sense though.
I watched the show tonight and like my cousin I just wish they had focused more on his parents and grandparents. So little time to do so much. But I still enjoyed it.

Fabulous interview. It's so nice to know what Lisa feels about doing the show. I have to agree with Schelly about the Eastern European Jewish roots. There are some great researchers who have found amazing information in the archives in Europe. But we do have our brickwalls too. The lack of surnames, the Holocaust, border changes and numerous wars to name a just a few of the roadblocks that make it difficult, but not impossible, to search our families. We need to be ever diligent and, in some cases, think creatively about ways to find the information.
