MyHeritage Mobile App: 100,000 installs and counting!

The recently released MyHeritage mobile app is being embraced at an amazing pace, as people all over the world install it onto their iPhone, iPad and Android devices.

This holiday season, many families worldwide sat around the fireplace or at the dinner table and enjoyed exploring their family history using the new app - and it warms our heart.

Since the app was released on December 15, it has already been downloaded more than 100,000 times and been featured on a number of top-downloaded and best-app lists across the world.

Android Market

Well-regarded app review site AppBrain had it as high as the #2 hot social app of the week a few days ago.

In the Android Market, the app reached #20 worldwide in the Social category, two places ahead of the LinkedIn mobile app.

Well-known website Android Police also listed the app among the best new android apps of the week when it launched.

Although 100,000 installations in a little more than two weeks is indeed exciting, what really gave us a fabulous start to 2012 was the great feedback we received from users who love the simple interface, the appealing design and the ability to take their family history with them wherever they go.

Version 2.0, here we come!

Our mobile team surely isn't resting on their laurels. Version 2.0 is already in the works, with the top feature you've all been waiting for: the simplest way to add and edit your family tree on the go. Plus, we'll be adding 16 or more additional languages so more users around the world can enjoy exploring their family tree and capturing family moments for future generations.

This is really great. I used it at the library today. I can put my smart phone in my pocket and do not worry about an iPad walking off.

Right now the app is available for iOS and Android only, but more platforms may be added in the future.The new HTML5-based family tree on the app will replace the flash-based tree that we have on MyHeritage.com in the future, so we hope you can enjoy that improved experience soon enough.

Why can't I sync with my existing tree. Not going to use it if I build my tree from scratch.

Hi Myheritage team,

I'm a member who pays for myheritage and it bothers me, that there isn't an app for the Blackberry Users...a whole lot of my living family tree members have a blackberry.

An it bothers me, that everytime I visit my family tree site, that you make commercials about how many people have download the app, but there are no blackberry users amongs them.

So what about the Blackberry users???

I tried to download myHeritage mobile app to TouchPad. It doesn't work on Android 2.3.4 device (touchpad). Can someone help to fix it?

The only settings are tteitwr username/password and they can be found by clicking the standard menu button. The picture with the phone and bubble is an example image, it should show the image you choose or take in it's place.
