Memorial Day in Celebration

As many of you may know, yesterday the United States celebrated Memorial Day. It is annually celebrated the last Monday in May to commemorate soldiers who have died in service. Flags are flown at half-mast from dawn until noon, while volunteers distribute small flags to gravestones in national cemeteries. A national moment of remembrance is taken at 3 P.M. local time.

Home-made food at the MyHeritage office
Last week we had a delicious activity in our offices and we cannot resist sharing it with you!
Due to the recent holidays, we organized a Cooking Contest at the head office of the company. We were very impressed by the cooking skills that the team showed and the food didn't only look great, but was also delicious.
This is how it worked: everyone had to bring either a first course or dessert, the heads of each department made up the jury and had to try a bit from each dish and assign a score to ultimately select the winner of each category. The winners got a prize and of course everybody enjoyed the food and we had a great time, as you can see in the pictures!

An important visit to MyHeritage
A group from the Educational Program MEET came last week for a tour of MyHeritage offices.

MEET is a special three year program in cooperation with Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). It brings together Palestinian and Israeli students (15-17 years old) in a project-based learning environment in which they learn practical technological skills and business leadership skills. Most importantly, the program is designed to help them create positive social change within their communities.
At the end of every year the MEET staff and instructors choose four excelling students to receive a special award for their social and educational involvement in MEET. The award is a “field trip” tour of a successful technology company. In the past students have toured the campuses of IBM, Microsoft, Hewlett Packard and other large companies. This year eight students from East and West Jerusalem, Mevasseret and Bethlehem were chosen to participate in a tour of MyHeritage.com. Continue reading "An important visit to MyHeritage" »
