But this week we are particularly proud because she received the prestigious "Award of Excellence: Genealogical Methods and Sources" from the National Genealogical Society (NGS), at its recent annual conference in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Schelly, whom you know from our genealogy blog or her personal blog tracingthetribe, was honored for her article, "Ties That Bind: Jewish Research Strategies." It was published in Family Tree Magazine (September 2009); read it here.
Because she couldn't personally attend the conference to receive the honor, our colleague Daniel Horowitz accepted it on her behalf from NGS president Jan Alpert. He will post a more detailed review of his recent US trip soon.
