Discovering MyHeritage – Finding answers to the questions you’re stuck with

Did you know there are several places on the MyHeritage.com website where you can find answers to your pressing questions? No? Well that's why we've made this post to let you know what you can do if there is something that puzzles you on the site.

Help sectionThe Help Section

First of all you may want to check our help section which you find by clicking on the 'help' link at the bottom of your site. This will take you to our help centre, an overview of different general questions about the site by topic. It includes answers on how to change your password, how to change your settings for receiving newsletters or reminder preferences or how to import a GEDCOM file to you site.

Have a look at the right side of the page to search for the answer to your question by topic or simply type a keyword in the search box to bring up the answers including the key word.

If you have more specific genealogy questions, have a look at the genealogy FAQs and search tips, which answer questions like 'How do I enter names in MyHeritage.com research?'.

Forums

Next to the help tab you'll find the 'forums' option. Clicking this will take you to our help forums, a place where you can find other people's questions and pose any question you may have yourself. Our support members regularly check the forums and answer your questions but other members of the site who know the answer are also in a position to answer. It's a resourceful way of making use of the MyHeritage community!

You can use the search option to search for a keyword. Clicking 'post new topic' will bring up a screen where you can type a question to post. You can choose to get the answers to the post by email and even choose for the question to be a 'sticky' post meaning it will appear at the top of the message boards.
You can add a file to the topic in case you want to add a screenshot or picture of the issue you're referring to.

Just make sure you pick a relevant category to post your question in so it's clear what your issue is about, making it easier for people to answer your question.

Genealogy ForumsGenealogy Forums

For purely genealogy questions you may want to have a look at our Genealogy Forums, which can be found under the genealogy section of our site.

The genealogy message boards are for sharing useful family history or research information with other users, whether it is asking about a specific family name or needing information about an adoption or a query about a cemetery, this is the place to ask your question!

You can search for a particular location, name or subject, or simply browse through the message boards. Once you find an appropriate message board, you can click 'Post new topic' to post a new message, or reply to any of the messages on it.

If after consulting these sections of the site you haven't found or gotten the answers you've been looking for, you can always drop our support team an email with your questions!

Also remember if you have issues with the Family Tree Builder, there's a manual you can download from within the program by going to Help, user's guide.
