Hi. I am also a McNaughton genealogist and historian. I just would like to let you know that the McNaughton line of the chiefs did not die out as many believe. Chief Alexander McNaughton was a favorite of King Charles II and spent most of his time in London. His brother John lived in Dunderave castle in Argyll with his wife and children. John was captured after the battle of Killiecrankie, and his 2 sons. They were eventually released. After the castle was taken by the Campbells John's sons lived first in Perth and fifty years later, in the 1770's they moved to Cameron lands in Argyll. These are my ancestors. My website is http://www.trholme.com/mcnaughtonofdunderave/

My aunt used to tell me that her grandmother said our Norton line came from the MacNaughtons. I have tried for many years to make the connection. I would like to know if in all of your research you have connected to any Nortons. Thanks for your help.

Hey , My Grandfather Owns a B&B in Buffalo New York and we are an Line of the MacNaughtons. I would have to ask him for all the details but one of our clans members and her family immagrated to the states and moved out to the Mid West sadly all the clansmen have passed on and our clan is scattered though out the United States ..any way im sure that My grandfather would love to have a MacNaughton stay at his B&B so he could help find out where the rest of our clansmen are located
here is the website to his B&B
